Julana Parker

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from St. Louis University in 1998 and my Masters of Arts in School Counseling from Lindenwood University in 2008. In October, I will be returning to graduate school at Capella University to finish earning my Certificate in Psychology in Play-Therapy. Ultimately, I aspire to run my own business as a Successful Play-Therapist in the Dallas Metroplex area. I have been working as a Professional School Counselor for over fourteen years. Currently, I work in an Elementary School and I love every minute of it! My main responsibilities are ensuring that I am meeting the social, emotional, academic, and career-focused needs of/and with the student. This entails many responsibilities, as every stakeholder plays a key component in the success of the student, for example, I conduct Parent University Training Courses, attend ongoing professional training as a member of the American School Counseling Association, and conduct daily guidance and weekly Socially Centered, Goal Oriented Groups with students to name a few.

Sandra Rendon- Steele

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Master (MSW) and bachelor (BSW) in Social Work with a minor in psychology from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.  I was born in El Salvador and came as a refugee to St. Louis in 1983 when I was 10 years old due to a war in the country at the time.  I am fluent in Spanish and have provided my interpreter services in my different roles as a social worker.  My first employment was in the business field, but after working there for a year, I learned that was not where I saw myself at that time.  I started working as a social worker at a shelter with expecting teenagers, then in the medical field in a clinic, did some research work with state children placed with foster parents, as a case manager, did some telephonic crisis intervention, volunteered with veterans, substance abuse counselor, individual therapy, facilitated substance abuse groups, and behavioral health/mental health group therapy. During this last 23 years as a social worker, I have grown professionally and really enjoy and I am passionate about what I do.
